Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
1. Who we are
Moonlight Embers ("Moonlight Embers," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent creative studio, operated by a single individual, that produces original ambient music and visuals and publishes them to its own channels, including The Hooded Bard and Midn1ght Mugen. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with this website and the first-party software we use to prepare and publish our own content.
2. Scope
This policy covers (a) this website, and (b) our internal, first-party publishing software, which we operate ourselves to upload our own videos and music to our own connected social media accounts (for example, via the TikTok Content Posting API and the YouTube Data API). Our software is not a public product, does not have external end users, and does not collect information from viewers of our channels or from any third parties.
3. Information we collect
From visitors to this website
None. This website is a set of static pages. We do not use cookies, analytics, trackers, or advertising, and we do not collect personal information from visitors.
Through our own connected accounts
When we connect one of our own social accounts to our publishing software, the relevant platform issues us authorization credentials (OAuth access and refresh tokens) tied to that account. We also handle the content we ourselves create — the video and audio files we upload, and their titles, captions, and descriptions. We do not request, receive, or store personal data about other users of those platforms.
4. How we use information
- To authenticate to our own social accounts and upload our own content to them.
- To maintain a connected session (refreshing access tokens as needed).
- To keep local records of what we published (for our own bookkeeping).
We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or resale, and we do not use platform data for any purpose other than publishing our own content to our own accounts.
5. Third-party platforms & APIs
Our publishing software interacts with third-party platforms strictly through their official APIs, and only for our own accounts:
- TikTok. We use the TikTok Content Posting API to upload our own videos to our own TikTok account. Our use of TikTok data complies with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service and applicable TikTok policies. Access tokens are used solely to publish our content and can be revoked at any time from the TikTok account's app-permission settings.
- YouTube / Google. We use the YouTube Data API to upload our own videos to our own YouTube channel. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Each platform independently governs its own services under its own terms and privacy policy.
6. Sharing & selling
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information. We do not share authorization credentials or content with third parties, except with the platform the content is being published to, and except as required by law.
7. Data retention
We retain authorization credentials only for as long as an account remains connected to our software, and we delete them when the connection is removed or access is revoked. Records of our own published content are kept only as long as useful for our operations.
8. Security
Authorization credentials are stored on systems we control, restricted to the operator, and are not exposed publicly. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect this information.
9. Your rights & choices
Because our software operates only on our own accounts and does not process personal data of other people, there are typically no third-party data subjects. If you believe we hold information relating to you, or you have any privacy question, contact us (see below) and we will respond. You can also revoke our software's access to any connected account at any time from that platform's settings.
10. Children
This website and our content are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
